Adirondack chair for kids

Adirondack chair for kids made of 1×4 wood. Simple 1 day build that you can do with various tools.

Prepare the wood – You will need 1x4s for the bigger parts. the slats can use fence pickets or other 3/4″ thick materials.

Trace the templates and cut the pieces – I used the band saw to cut the pieces. You can cut them with a jigsaw if needed.

Cut the straight pieces on the mitre saw – The last piece is mitered 45 degrees.

Rip the slats on the table saw – You will cut them on the mitre saw to length after. 6×24″ and 7×13″

Sanding – Sand the pieces to a comfortable finish, it will save you time and money on paint.

Assembly – Don’t forget glue and pre drill holes for all joints.

Install the slats – Space them out by an equal distance.

Install the armrests – Predrill, glue and screw in the armrests on the armrest supports.

Painting – I used a exterior ready silicone paint.

Done – Enjoy your new chair!
