I made a kid’s chair from one pallet I found for free.
- Pallet breaker : https://amzn.to/49W1RNT
- Nail remover : https://amzn.to/49StRSw
Cut list :
- 2×14” legs
- 2×26” legs
- 2×11” frame
- 2×12” frame
- 2x 8 1/2 frame
- 4x 12 1/2 seat
- 1x 11” seat
- 2x 11” back support
- 2×7.5″ sides (You will mesure those to have an exact mesure, it will be affected by the width of your planks)
Break down the pallet – Separate all the wood planks from the pallet. You can use the tools mentioned above to help you.
Plane the wood – Plane both sides of the planks to a smooth feeling and even thickness.
Mesure and mark the cuts – The list of cuts is posted above
Cut the wood – Use a mitre saw to cut all the wood from the cut list above.
Assembly of the box – The 11″ parts go in the outside, the 12″ parts inside.
Adding the legs – Make sure to stay square and use plenty of wood glue before nailing.
Adding the seat – Glue and nail the seat down onto the base.
Adding the back support – glue, nail and clamp the back in place.
Adding the leg dowels – Solidify the legs by adding dowels or counter sank screws.
Sanding – Sand to 120 grit before finishing.
Cut seat – I used a circular saw to cut the seat to the length I wanted.
Finish – I used polyurethane, 2 coats.
Done! – Enjoy your new chair!
